The Commonwealth Lawyers’ Association (CLA) is an international organisation which exists to promote and maintain the rule of law throughout the Commonwealth by ensuring that an independent and efficient legal profession, with the highest standards of ethics and integrity, serves the people of the Commonwealth. The CLA was established in Hong Kong in 1983 and a Constitution was subsequently adopted in Jamaica in 1986. It is fitting, therefore, that the CLA will be returning to Jamaica to celebrate it's 25th anniversary from 16 - 19 October 2008.
